Painting in the digital Era is a Virtual Reality 360° Digital Painting, created entirely with the use of CGI.
3D Objects become strokes, forms and figures. The virtual space, the canvas. Understanding CGI and 3D Objects as a new set of tools that transcend the brush, the chisel, the lens. Understanding VR as a space where the relation between the viewer and the artwork doesn't have a univocal understanding, but further blurs the already overlapping definitions of painting, sculpture, videoart, installation, theatre and performance.
By entering Virtual Reality through a VR headset, the viewer is immediately transposed into the centre of the digital space(the canvas), surrounded by the digital strokes and materialised paint, symbols and abstractions.
What the viewers experience is a deep encounter with the grand and grandiose forms that “float” in the calm inner world of the artist's subconscious. An encounter with fears, angst, needs and internal struggles, materialised into gigantic organic forms that oscillate between symbols, fragments and fully abstract matter.
