Abstract art is the field where it becomes the most obvious
that our interpretation is subjective, partial, and at times
flawed. We would never see in a cloud a horse running, if we
wouldn't have known the horse itself first.
To learn to see what we don't yet know is an active practice,
and it cannot be given to us.
Abstract art best shows us how we read the world.
Is the space where we can all see ourselves.
Like a mirror.
We can see what it is we are able to see.
What we want/need/have to see.
Whenever we interpret the world, we do it through the lens of
what we already know, of our beliefs and our values. Through
the paths we already learned.
To see anew we must learn to put aside our prejudices, our
cynicism, and listen with new ears, look with fresh eyes, to
search for new meanings.
